Brief History: March 2005 – September 2009

Building Homes and Lots Available near Fort Riley - Welcome Home to Irish Acres
Blixt Construction, L.C. (Larry and Judy Blixt, members/developers) purchased 37 acres on the northwest edge of Chapman. At an earlier time the area had been used as a cattle feed lot; evidence of this still remained as the farm silo was still standing tall. Property annexation was immediately initiated followed by rapid construction of Unit 1.

Irish Acres has been developed in three (3) separate units. To date the infrastructure for 72 new lots has been completed. Twelve building lots for sale are still available in Unit 2, Phase I and Phase II. Eleven lots for sale are available in the most recently developed Unit 3. All lots have unique views of the Chapman Creek Valley and surrounding scenery.

Forty seven (47) single-family homes and two (2) townhomes/duplexes have been built in Irish Acres in the past four years. Our development has consistently grown in value since we began construction of new homes in 2005.

The area’s appraised value in January of 2005 was approximately $3000.00 with an accessed (tax) value of $900.00.

In January of 2009 the combined appraised value of Irish Acres properties was $10 million dollars with the accessed (tax) value of $1.2 million dollars. This 2009 information was gathered from the Dickinson County, Kansas website.
